Eagle Ranch Solar Project
Client: Homeowner - New construction
Location: Eagle, CO
Scope: Solar Power Generation for Net Zero and Green Build Status
Challenge: Implement a 9.66kW solar power system using the SunPower integrated microinverter technology.
Solution:
Diverse Racking Strategies: Installed 48kW of solar power using fully flashed posts during construction and allowed roofers to waterproof and add roof type around the fastening posts.
Net Zero Qualification: Aimed for the new construction project to achieve net zero status by maximizing solar power generation.
Structural Coordination: Coordinated with the general contractor to locate all arrays as well as hiding all roof penetrations from exterior views to the house prior to the house being built to secure a high aesthetic for all visible solar components.
Financial Navigation: Secured the maximum local rebate for the tax-exempt client by navigating the local cash rebate incentive policy as well as defining the federal tax credit totals.
Grid Interconnection: Navigated the local Utility requirements for grid interconnection based off of the allowable PV sizes for both net-metering.
Result: A model net-zero new single family home project that aided the homeowner’s commitment to renewable energy and net zero construction. The solar installation used the latest technology at the time to maximize and supply the densest power footprint available for the client. This allowed for larger solar power generation to occur on the smallest possible array dimension.
